"Arkansas Tech revolutionized the field of emergency management education in this region when we developed just the third emergency management baccalaureate degree program in the United States in 1997.  Arkansas Tech has become known as a leader in emergency management education; a fact that was verified when we became the first institution in the world to have its emergency management degree program accredited by the Foundation for Higher Education Accreditation. We are proud of that distinction, and we are proud to offer programs in disciplines such as emergency management that are critical to the continued properity of our state and our country."
